Version 1.2 allows calendar subscriptions from Servoy
The latest version of the plugin adds a Servlet that allows users to subscribe to calendars delivered directly from Servoy. The servlet can call a headless client that has to deliver an iCalendar string that can be easily created with the plugin and wraps that in a format that calendar clients can read.
The servlet can be configured directly from the servoy-admin page (under Server plugins):
A subscription URL could then look like this:
http://localhost:8080/servoy-service/pdi_plugin?id=7ef59dd4-0a0e-4ad4-8632-0268da2fec4c
To add some level of security, we use a UUID in the example above to figure out what user is requesting the calendar. The UUID is stored in the user table and can be changed to invalidate the request (Google calendar uses a similar approach with what they call "private URL"). The calendarHeadlessSolution from the example above checks the UUID and retrieves the user's events if succesful. It then creates an iCalendar string using the PDI plugin's functionality and simply returns that. The servlet then quits the headless client to free the license.
Version 1.2 also offers
- support for JSFiles where applicable
- RecurrenceRule method getDates(Date start, Date end) to get all recurring events between the two given dates
- few minor bug fixes

Version 1.1.2 released
The new version of the PDI plugin adds a servlet to Servoy server that allows subscription of calendars delivered by Servoy. That allows developers to deliver calendar data to applications capable of calendar subscriptions (like Apple's iCal or Microsoft Outlook). The servlet calls a method in a headless client that has to deliver an iCalendar created by the plugin. It will then wrap the received string in a way that allows subscription.
The new version also fixes a few bugs and offers minor enhancements (see version history).
